Seek Assistance

We’re here to help.

The Food Bank

  • The food bank exists to offer basic necessities to our neighbors. We offer a variety of fresh and non-perishable food items, clothing, toiletries, and showers.
  • Thanks to our donors we offer a variety of foods such as fruits, vegetables, meats, breads, canned goods, pastries and other non-perishables.
  • We intermittently have representatives from local non-profits and agencies to assist in signing our guests up for government services such as Food Stamps and voter registration.

The Clothes Closet is open every Wednesday from 10am – 11am.

Clothes Closet

  • Our Clothes Closet offers a variety of donated and lightly used clothing items

  • Sizes and types of clothes vary based upon donations

  • Guests to the Food Bank & Clothes Closet are invited to select one to two outfits as needed

  • In addition to the clothes closet and food bank, we offer showers and toiletries as well

The Warming Shelter

  • The Winter Warming Shelter provides a safe, warm place to sleep to the homeless and under-housed in the North Charleston area

  • We welcome all men, women, and children in need of shelter provided they are not a harm to themselves or others. Upon arrival guests are provided with a hot meal, a warm shower, clean clothes, toiletries, an optional devotional, and a safe place to sleep. In the morning guests are provided breakfast and are given a bag lunch to go.

  • During our operating season, the Winter Warming Shelter opens when temperatures are forecast to be 35 degrees or below, or during inclement weather. Our Shelter leadership team makes the ‘call’ to open 48 hours in advance and shares the opening decision with local news media, homeless services, municipalities, police departments, Facebook and on Instagram

  • Through a partnership with CARTA, guests can travel free of charge when they request transit to the Winter Warming Shelter

  • The Winter Warming Shelter screens all persons and bags upon entry for weapons. We collect any weapons (knives, box cutters, tools, etc.) for overnight storage and check items back to our guests in the morning. Firearms, alcohol, and all illegal substances are strictly prohibited on church property. Pets are not permitted in the Shelter.

The 2023 Winter Warming Shelter season ran from December, 2023 to February, 2024. We are currently closed but you can read below to learn about our what we “Envision!”
